Billo and the New Delhi Cafe

It is on the main street of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I was here to spend a week at the Writers Colony of Dairy Hollow.

Another writer at the Colony Brandon Goldsmith suggested we check out the only Indian restaurant in town. It was a short walk way so I decided that I would find out what made New Delhi Cafe at Eureka Springs worth a trip. I am at the the ONLY Indian restaurant in town. And meeting the ONLY Indian in Eureka Springs – Monish Sarad better known as the much loved “Billo”

One of us read the wrong weather prediction. That has to be me!

I spoke to him what it means to run a food joint. Hint: It is hard. He take six weeks off in Jan every year. Other than he works seven days a week from 11am to 11pm.

What must you try at New Delhi Cafe

The shell is made from a tortilla and the filling is mouth wateringly delicious. Ask Billo to serve you i in these lovely colorful plates. This is the absolutely awesome veg recommendation I have. You have one samosa and wait for five minutes. Then decide if you have space for lunch or dinner. Yes it is that filling.

For the non veg lovers I recommend the Chicken Makhni. It comes with the naan and some rice. The flavor is divine. This is 140 seater restaurant. Your order will always arrive within 15 minutes.

They have live bands playing all weekend. I heard the the Delta Blues, a band that kept the crowd going with their energy. You can hear the music in the background of the video where I am speaking to Billo.
